At Brookside Primary School, we are immensely proud of our long-standing commitment to environmental sustainability through the Eco-Schools programme. For the past 10 years, we have consistently achieved the prestigious Green Flag award, demonstrating our dedication to embedding sustainable practices across our school community. This achievement reflects the hard work and enthusiasm of our pupils, staff, and families, who work together to reduce our environmental impact and promote eco-friendly habits. Through our Eco-Schools journey, our pupils have developed a deep understanding of environmental issues and have taken meaningful action to make our school greener, from energy-saving initiatives to waste reduction projects. The Green Flag is not just an award – it represents our ongoing commitment to nurturing environmentally responsible citizens who will carry these values into their future lives.
Sustainability is embedded throughout our school curriculum. We help our pupils understand their role in protecting our planet and give them the voice and responsibility to make a positive difference.
Our Eco Committee
Our eco committee is made up of children from each year group, including pupils from our Enhanced Resource Base (ERB) unit. Children with special educational needs actively take part in all our eco projects alongside their mainstream peers, working together to make our school more environmentally sustainable.
