We are pleased to announce that Brookside Primary have been awarded the British Council’s prestigious International School Award for working to bring the world into the classroom. We have shown a commitment to embedding international awareness and understanding within their class or school.

Basic Skills Agency Quality Mark

The Primary Quality Mark award was first developed in 1997, with the help of local education authorities and primary schools throughout England and Wales, to provide a framework that would promote, support and celebrate the improvement of literacy and mathematics in schools. It was revised in 2006 following consultation with a significant number of Local Authorities in the Primary Quality Mark Partnership.

The 10 Primary Quality Mark elements are as relevant today for school improvement as they were originally. The fundamental principles of the Primary Quality Mark process, such as the involvement of the whole school community, self review and targeted intervention, have now become central to any school’s improvement agenda, regardless of its context.

The Primary Quality Mark provides a framework for self-evaluation and continuous improvement of the basic skills of all pupils in a school. This includes both those who underachieve and those whose attainment is lower than would be expected of someone of their age. The Award shows our commitment to the development of basic skills and this is reflected by the standards achieved by the pupils in the school.

Sainsburys School Games - Gold

This award recognises the school’s commitment to the development of sporting competition across school and into the community.

Healthy Schools Leicestershire

The award recognises our commitment to the health and wellbeing of our Learners.

Accredited School Route To Resilience

Route to resilience is an evidence-based and practical approach to supporting schools and families in their work developing the emotional well-being and resilience of children and young people.

Brookside Primary School was one of the 95 across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to complete the programme, an achievement we are proud of.

As part of the programme we submitted an accreditation tool that evidenced the implementation of Route to Resilience in our school. I am pleased to confirm that we are now a Route to Resilience accredited school.
